Firefox blocked or disabled Browsing Protection. Error message - could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled
This is a bug triggered on 4th May 2019 and currently being fixed by Firefox team. This bug has disabled a lot of add-ons and F-Secure is one of them. A temporary workaround has been released: https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2019/05/04/update-regarding-add-ons-in-firefox/

I would like to upgrade my F-Secure Internet Security or Antivirus subscription to F-Secure SAFE subscription. What do I do?
It is advisable to upgrade your current F-Secure Internet Security or Antivirus subscription to SAFE as close to the expiry date as possible. As F-Secure SAFE is a different product, the remaining days of your current Internet Security subscription cannot be automatically transferred to your new F-Secure SAFE subscription. To upgrade to F-Secure SAFE, simply allow your F-Secure Internet Security subscription to expire and purchase a new F-Secure SAFE subscription by going to the:
product web page, or; selecting the F-Secure SAFE buy option in the renewal email that you have received from F-Secure
As you go through the purchase process, you are asked to create a My F-Secure account. F-Secure SAFE subscriptions are accessed and managed through the My F-Secure service. Once your purchase is complete:
Create a My F-Secure account using the same email you used to make the purchase. Once created, check your email for an activation email sent by F-Secure, and activate your account by clicking link in the email. Your account is confirmed and created.
As F-Secure SAFE is a different product, download and install the product from the My F-Secure service. Follow the instructions below to install F-Secure SAFE on your devices:

The error you receive is due to an outdated version of MacOS. F-Secure SAFE supports version 10.12 (Sierra) or newer. To update your operating system to the latest version:
Click the Apple icon on the top-left corner of the screen. Click About this Mac. Select Software Update.
Allow your Mac to update itself to the latest MacOS version. Once completed, restart your Mac and proceed to install F-Secure SAFE.

I'm a Handelsbanken customer and while logged in to my netbank I can't open the "Sijoita ja säästä" tab when banking protection is active.
This issue has been fixed and the fix was deployed on Friday 2019-08-30. If the problem persists, make sure that your application has been updated and all the newest updates have been installed. After that empty your browser cache and try again. If the problem still persists, contact Customer Care. If you can't open the Handelsbanken "Sijoita ja säästä" tab while Banking Protection is active, try the following workarounds to solve the issue:
Check for updates
Open F-Secure SAFE. Click Tools. Click Check for updates.
Add the URL to website exceptions
Open F-Secure SAFE. On the Antivirus page, click Settings. Click Secure Browsing. Go to the Browsing Protection tab. At the bottom of the window, click the View web site exceptions link. To add an exception to a website (whitelist), go to the Allowed tab, click Add, and enter the URL when asked. Click OK.
Turn on "Do not interrupt my current Internet connections"
Open F-Secure SAFE. Click Secure Browsing. Scroll down to Banking Protection. Select Do not interrupt my current Internet connections.

When opening F-Secure SAFE or F-Secure Internet Security, I get an error "Computer is not protected". It also tells me to restart the device.
There are a number of reasons why your F-Secure security product (F-Secure SAFE or F-Secure Internet Security) is reporting "Computer is not protected":
Computer is pending a restart after a Windows or product update The product is not able to download the latest definition from F-Secure servers The product is malfunctioning
Follow the steps below one by one, and check after each step to see if it resolved the issue:
Restart the computer.
After restarting the computer, open the F-Secure SAFE or F-Secure Internet Security and check if the issue is resolved.
Check Windows updates
If needed, run the updates
Perform a manual update on the product. Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet.
Open F-Secure SAFE or Internet Security. Click Tools. Click Check for updates.
Re-start F-secure SAFE/Internet Security
Open F-Secure SAFE or Internet Security. Click Tools Click Turn off protection features Re-start PC
Uninstall and reinstall the product. It may be malfunctioning.

I activated family rules by mistake on an account, how do I deactivate them?
You can deactivate the F-secure SAFE family rules for a user by doing as follows:
Login to your account on https://my.f-secure.com Click on the user in question Select Time limits
Click the On/Off button to deactivate time limits for this user
Select Content filtering
Click the On/Off button to deactivate content filtering for this user
If you have, by mistake, installed a child profile on your device you can remove the Family Rules by changing the user in the F-Secure Safe application:

F-Secure program (F-secure SAFE/ Anti-Virus) has detected malicious files or viruses but they were not deleted automatically.
You can open the scanning report and locate the specific files in the following way:
Open F-Secure SAFE Click on Tools Click on Infection report Click on the specific report Open the information from there Find the exact file from finder You can delete the file by moving it to Trash, and then emptying the Trash after that. Be aware, if the mentioned file is an email file - this will remove all your emails if you delete it.
Note: Potentially Unwanted Application detections are common in the Mac OSX environment. F-Secure product only warns about Potentially Unwanted Applications but does not automatically remove them. Regarding the removal, we suggest that you uninstall the application completely from your Mac environment to stop the detection alert. If you want to use the application in your environment, you can exclude those files in the product. Note: You can exclude only process/applications from scanning, not files. You can run the following commands in Terminal to exclude Outlook Application from scanning: sudo -s echo "/Applications/Microsoft Outlook.app/Contents/MacOS/Microsoft Outlook" >> /usr/local/f-secure/fsmac/sysconfig/system_daemons launchctl stop com.f-secure.fsavd Restart your computer after running the commands and monitor the CPU usage of the FSAVD process.

Every day at the same time I get an alert from Deepguard that it has blocked Powershell.exe
The most likely scenario is that a piece of malware or potentially unwanted application has created a scheduled task in the Windows task scheduler. This task is ordered to run the Powershell application, which is a part of Windows, with a set of instructions that Deepguard is recognizing as malicious or questionable. Collect an fsdiag-file from the affected computer following these instructions and then contact support with a description of the situation. They will need to analyze the fsdiag-file to suggest further instructions.

When I run the F-Secure install I have error, "For security and performance Windows 10 in S mode runs Microsoft verified apps...To get this app you need to switch out of S mode or find a similar app in the store." Why am I unable to install F-Secure on my computer in S mode?
Windows 10 in S Mode is a more limited, locked-down Windows operating system. In S Mode, you can only install apps from the Store, and you can only browse the web with Microsoft Edge. F-Secure products are not available in Microsoft App store, so you need to get out of S mode to use our products. If you purchase a PC in S Mode, you can leave S Mode for free. It doesn’t cost anything, but it is a one-time decision — once you’ve taken the PC out of S Mode, you can never put it back into S Mode.
How to Check If You’re Using S Mode
You can check whether you’re using S Mode by heading to Settings > System > About. On the About page, scroll down to the “Windows Specifications” section.
If you see the words “in S mode” to the right of the Edition entry, you’re using an S Mode PC. If not, you’re not using S Mode.

Verify that the subscription purchased is for F-Secure SAFE. You can find the product name in the purchase invoice that was emailed to you. F-Secure SAFE license code has this format: xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
If the code provided is for F-Secure SAFE, please follow the steps below to activate the subscription using the code:
Go to the My F-Secure portal: https://my.f-secure.com/ Login to your F-Secure SAFE account with your email and password. Click on Subscription. Scroll down and click on Enter a Code. Insert your F-Secure SAFE license code (this format: xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx). Click on Continue. Once the code is accepted, proceed to install F-Secure SAFE on your device by clicking Add device and follow the instructions shown on the screen.
If you do not have a F-Secure SAFE account yet, then create a F-Secure SAFE account first:

How Do I Install F-Secure Safe On My Device(s) as a Sub-user
You can share your subscription with a friend or family member by inviting them into your My F-Secure group. This allows them to protect their devices using your available licenses.
Log in to My F-Secure with your account username and password. Once logged in, click/tap Add device. The Whose device do you want to protect? window appears. Select Someone else's device, and click/tap Continue. The Invite a person window appears. Fill in your name and email address in the relevant fields, and click/tap Send invitation. The person you add will receive an invitation email that allows them to set up their My F-Secure sub account.
Once the account has been set up, they would need to be logged in with their email address and password then the next stage would be to install the program on their device(s). Note: If the sub-user does not remember their password, they would need to have it reset by clicking on the Forgot your password link then type in the email address that was sent the initial invitation and click on the Send button once completed. Unable to update virus definition on Windows 7 and Windows 10 with error connecting to guts2.sp.f-secure.com Connection failed Error 202 or 201 timed out. Malware Scan cannot update itself. I am not able to install Safe on my computer. The installation stops at ~99%.

Press Start. Select Control Panel. Make sure you are in the Large or Small icons view (Windows 7), or Classic View (Vista). Open Network and Sharing Center. On the left pane, select Change adapter settings (Windows 7) or Manage network connections (Vista). Right-click the connection for which you want to disable IPv6, and select Properties. Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and click OK.
Go to the Control Panel. Open Network & Internet/ Click on Ethernet. Click on the right side on Change adapter options. Right-click the connection you are using. Click on Properties. Uncheck the Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and click OK.
