Question What do I do if I get a Blue Screen when installing F-Secure security product to a Windows 10 system? Answer On a fresh Windows 10 system In case of a Blue Screen when installing F-Secure security product to a Windows 10 machine: Boot the computer in Safe mode with networking. Download and run the Uninstallation Tool for Windows. You can download the tool here. Once done, boot the computer in Normal mode. Check and install any pending Windows Updates. Reinstall the F-Secure security product. During OS upgrade If you get a Blue Screen during a Windows 10 upgrade, the operating system upgrade fails and returns to its original state. In such rare cases: Uninstall the F-Secure application manually. Perform the Windows 10 upgrade. Reinstall the F-Secure security product.

Question I registered with F-Secure SAFE but the application on my device shows different expiration date. What should I do? Answer The F-Secure SAFE application gets the new extended service period as part of the registration process. If you did not click Finish or the process was interrupted somehow, the new service period might not have been updated. Question I forgot my security code and I cannot change settings or uninstall the application. What should I do? Answer The F-Secure SAFE application supports the forgot password logic. If you have defined an e-mail address in the Parental Control or Anti-Theft settings, you can use the “I have forgotten my security code” functionality.   To reset the security code:   In the dialog requesting the security code, tap the I have forgotten my security code link. The Security Code reset window opens. Tap OK. An e-mail is sent to your defined e-mail address. Open the e-mail and to reset the security code, follow the instructions given. Set a new security code through the Anti-Theft settings and store it carefully. Use, for example the F-Secure Key application to keep your passwords safe. Symptoms The user has uninstalled the F-Secure Mobile Security or F-Secure SAFE for Android product and is trying to install the latest version of the product from Google Play store. As soon as the user tries to activate the product, the ACTIVATION_TYPE_SMS error message is displayed on the device. Diagnosis Once the product is installed and activated, we send an activation SMS message to the user. However, if the user still has the old activation message in his message box, the activation of the new version fails, and the above error message is displayed. Solution To fix the issue: Delete the old activation message from your device. Try to activate the new version again.

Question I get the following error message: "Unable to transfer subscription to this device". What should I do? Answer This error message is displayed when the update server cannot authenticate the subscription with this device. The reason for this authentication failure is that there have been more than three attempts to move the Mobile Security installation and service subscription to another device. After three device changes, the subscription will not activate in a new device. If you need to transfer the subscription more than three times, contact support.

Question What has happened to My F-Secure Portal? Answer My F-Secure Portal has been discontinued on the 30th of May 2013. The closure of the My F-Secure Portal has no effect on any of our products or any of your subscriptions. The closure of the My F-Secure Portal has little to no effect on most users. The only difference is that the button My F-Secure is not accessible anymore from the navigation. You can still log in to the Community and use our website and services as you did before.
