Issue: Device is logged in to a wrong My F-Secure account, I want to transfer it over to the other account I have.   Resolution: Note! This currently only works if both the old license on the old account and the new license on the new account are valid at the same time. If the old license has expired, or the new license is not yet active, this procedure does not work. Issue: How do I re-install F-Secure SAFE for Android? Resolution: These steps are to re-install F-Secure Safe for Android Smartphone and Tablet.   1. Uninstall F-Secure SAFE on your Android phone or tablet.  Open up the app on your device Go to the Menu   in the top left of your screen, then Settings Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and tap on Uninstall Enter the security code, if you have taken a security code into use, and tap OK to confirm the uninstallation. F-secure SAFE is now uninstalled 2. Install F-secure Safe on the Android Smartphone or Tablet again Before you start installing F-Secure SAFE, make sure that: You have the latest Android version installed You have an active My F-Secure account. To create an account, see article How to create an account for My F-Secure? You have an internet connection On your Android device, open Play Store, and search for F-Secure SAFE On the results page, select F-Secure SAFE Select Install Once done, select Open to start the set-up Select Accept and continue to accept the terms and conditions. Tick the box if you want to allow the app to collect anonymous data to improve the service Do the following: In the Allow F-Secure SAFE to make and manage phone calls? window, select Allow In the Allow F-Secure SAFE to access device's location? window, select Allow In the Allow F-Secure SAFE to access photos, media and files on your device window, select Allow Select Log in, and type in your My F-Secure credentials. If you don’t have a valid F-Secure SAFE or TOTAL subscription, select Create account to create an account Select Continue. Issue: Customer inquired on how to install F-Secure Safe on his/her child's Android without having them to login using their email and password on the child's device. Resolution: Below are the steps on how to send the installation link either via Email or SMS. Log in to My F-Secure with your account username and password on your computer or any device Once logged in, click/tap Add device.  Select My child's device, and click/tap Continue. Then when Choose device type window appears, tap on Phone Android/iphone Click Continue, then you shall see 'Send SAFE installation link to your child's device via email or SMS'. Here you can choose to send by email or Send by SMS. Once key in the details to Send by email or Send by SMS , click Send. The installation link will be send accordingly. Or you can directly install from PlayStore:   Using your child's Android, open the PlayStore Tap Search Type SAFE Internet Security & Mobile Antivirus in the search box Under SAFE Internet Security & Mobile Antivirus, tap Get Tap Open Tap Accept and allow all the upcoming notifications Tap Log in Enter your My F-Secure email and password (main user's) Tap Log in Tap Installing for a child? at the bottom Enter the name and age App control: choose whether each app (new or already existing) should be, Time-limited Always allowed Blocked When ready, tap Next. Time limits: Time limits allow you to control when and for how long your child can use SAFE browser. To set the daily use limits, tap Edit (pencil icon) and slide the slider to the desired time length for weekdays and weekends. Once done, tap the Tick icon to save the settings. To set bedtime (prevent device use during night-time), tap Edit (pencil icon) and specify the time frame for school nights and weekends. Once done, tap the Tick icon. Tap Next. Content filtering: Content filtering blocks certain types of website content when browsing with the Safe Browser. Select by checking the boxes the content categories you want to block for your child. Tap Next. Almost ready. Tap Next Family Rules needs device administrator permissions to protect your child from harmful content. Press Continue Press Activate to grant F-Secure SAFE the device administrator permissions HUAWEI ONLY: If the  mobile phone has Ultra power saving mode, in the next step you need to: Tap Settings Enable Ultra power saving mode While in this mode, tap an empty square and add F-Secure SAFE. When it's activated, press the right hand corner to exit the mode. Return back to the program Tap Next Press Continue if you started F-Secure SAFE in Ultra power saving mode successfully Press continue under Turn on accessibility Scroll down, choose F-Secure SAFE and activate it with the switch, then press OK Press Finish Your child's device is now protected Article no: 000005445

Issue: F-secure SAFE Family Rules don't work on my child's Huawei Android phone Customer has a Huawei android phone. Resolution: Due to the aggressive power management functionality in Huawei Android devices, the F-secure SAFE app may get terminated by the operating system in an attempt to extend battery life. This may affect the Family Rules feature in F-secure SAFE preventing it from working properly.  When setting up Family rules on your device, there's a prompt about Ultra power saving mode. When you see this, the next step you need to: Tap Settings Enable Ultra power saving mode While in this mode, tap an empty square and add F-Secure SAFE. When it's activated, press the right hand corner to exit the mode. Return back to the program Tap Next Press Continue if you started F-Secure SAFE in Ultra power saving mode successfully Now F-Secure SAFE should work on your child's device. If the the Ultra power saving mode is not activated on your Huawei device, it turns everything off except for Phone, SMS and Contacs. F-secure SAFE is also turned off.  Note: If you have EMUI 8.0 you can do the following: Go to Settings Choose Battery Tap Launch Select F-Secure SAFE Choose Run in background Note: You must re-set the above steps after restarting the device as EMUI does not keep the setting over a restart of the device. If the above does not help, please try: 1. Settings -> Apps & Notifications -> Apps -> Settings ->  Special Access -> Ignore battery optimisation -> F-Secure SAFE -> "Allow (May drain your battery more quickly) -> OK. 2. Settings -> Apps & Notifications -> Apps -> Settings ->  Special Access -> Write System Settings -> IF  F-Secure SAFE is there, click it -> "Allow write system settings" If you have an older EMUI (<8.0) on your Huawei device:  Go to Settings > Advanced Settings Select Battery manager > Protected apps Find F-secure SAFE from the list and toggle the switch to the On position NOTE that we cannot guarantee that even with these settings F-secure SAFE will work on Huawei. Issue: Is it possible to set one time limit with F-Secure SAFE family rules, which child can use as he/she wants between different devices? How do Family Rule time limits work? Resolution: At the moment it is not possible to have a shared time limit between two or more devices. (That is, you can't set it up so that you'd have, for example, 1 hour of use per day between your phone and your tablet.) The time rules work currently as follows:  You set up a weekday time limit and a weekend time limit and these are the same for all devices on that child's profile. However, time is tracked separately for each device. That is, if Timothy has an android phone, android tablet, and PC, and they have 1-hour time limit on weekdays, and 2-hour time limit on weekends, they can do the following: On weekdays, they can play 1 hour on their phone, on their tablet, AND on their PC. On weekends, they can play 2 hours on each device, per day. So, on weekdays it's a total of 3 hours of play on their devices (1 hour on each), and on weekend days it's 6 hours of play on their devices (2 hours on each). If you want to limit the total time the child can play between all of their devices, it is recommended to take into account the number of devices they have, and set the time limit accordingly. (So, for example, if the child has 3 devices, and you want to limit them to 1.5 hours on all of them, set the time limit to 30 minutes per device. This way they have a bit of variety too!) Issue: I have renewed my F-Secure SAFE license, but my device shows license expired. Resolution: You might have purchased a subscription for a different product: Check the product installed on your device. If the product installed on your device is F-Secure Internet Security, then the subscription that you've purchased is for a different product. In this case, you need to uninstall F-Secure Internet Security from your device, and install F-Secure SAFE. Skip to the next step if this is not the case for you. Install F-Secure SAFE on PC Install F-Secure SAFE on iOS Install F-Secure SAFE on Android Install F-Secure SAFE on Mac If the product installed is the correct product for the subscription purchased:  Make sure that you have renewed an existing subscription instead of purchasing a separate new subscription. If you suspect that you might have purchased a separate new subscription, contact F-Secure Support for further assistance. If you use the login through Facebook, please verify you have installed SAFE from this account and not from the one with "normal" login. Try restarting your device, the product may just need to be refreshed to connect to our servers. Issue: I would like to upgrade my F-Secure Internet Security or Antivirus subscription to F-Secure SAFE subscription. What do I do? Resolution: It is advisable to upgrade your current F-Secure Internet Security or Antivirus subscription to SAFE as close to the expiry date as possible. As F-Secure SAFE is a different product, the remaining days of your current Internet Security subscription cannot be automatically transferred to your new F-Secure SAFE subscription. To upgrade to F-Secure SAFE, simply allow your F-Secure Internet Security subscription to expire and purchase a new F-Secure SAFE subscription by going to the: product web page, or;  selecting the F-Secure SAFE buy option in the renewal email that you have received from F-Secure As you go through the purchase process, you are asked to create a My F-Secure account. F-Secure SAFE subscriptions are accessed and managed through the My F-Secure service. Once your purchase is complete:  Create a My F-Secure account using the same email you used to make the purchase. Once created, check your email for an activation email sent by F-Secure, and activate your account by clicking link in the email. Your account is confirmed and created. As F-Secure SAFE is a different product, download and install the product from the My F-Secure service.
