How do I set up Parental Control for my child's Mac with F-Secure
If you have a family Mac computer that your child can access, you can block certain websites based on their content type using Parental Control to protect and limit your child's online activity. To set up Parental Control for your child, you need to be logged on to your child's user account. Make sure that Browsing Protection is enabled and the browser extensions are installed on all available browsers.
On the Mac, log on to your child's user account.
Open F-Secure SAFE.
Click Preference, and select the Browsing protection tab.
Click Install browser extension, choose a browser from the drop down list, and click Install now. Follow the instructions on screen to successfully install the extension. Repeat this step to install Browsing protection extension on all available browsers.
Once done, return to the F-Secure SAFE Preference window, and select the Parental control tab.
Tick the Turn on Content Blocker box to enable it. Type your administrator's username and password, and click OK.
You can now select the types of content you want to block from the list below by ticking them.
If you want to allow access to specific website for your child, click on the Web site exceptions button, click the + button, type in the website URL, and press Enter on your keyboard.
