Note: If you are already using a screen lock steps 4 and 5 are skipped.
  5. The "Screen unlock settings" screen opens. Select a locking method and tap Continue/Confirm. For more information, consult the documentation that came with your device.
  6. The "Set security code" dialog opens. Enter your security code, tap Continue. Type it again to make sure you entered it correctly.
Note: The security code must be at least 5 characters long.
  7. Tap Continue.
  8. Enter an email address where we will send the security code reset instructions if you forget your security code.
  9. Enter your trusted phone number where a notification will be sent if the SIM card of your current device is changed. You can also set it later.
Tip! Instead of typing, you can select a phone number from your device's phone book.
  10. Tap Continue. Note that Antitheft locate command requires location services to work. If location services are not on, turn them on.

Important: If your device is stolen, we strongly recommend that you change your Google account password.
