F-Secure Key on iPhone 4S

OK, so I thought I'd try out F-Secure Key on my laptop and my iPhone - thinking it might make it a bit easier to log in here.  As expected, Key doesn't seem to work on Sea Monkey, but is successful on IE11.  However, I've installed it on my iPhone 4S, and Key doesn't seem to work, at least not on this website.  Does anyone know if it's supposed to be compatible with Safari?  If so, what could I be doing wrong?

Re: F-Secure Key on iPhone 4S

Hi Simon,

I see no one has answered you on this yet. I don't use Key myself but may have some ideas:

Browsers isn't mentioned at all for Key, so it should work on any program or browser I guess.

iOS 5 or later is the only requirement.

If you can get Key to work on your iPhone for other websites, the problem might be the very long address for the FS login page, example:

https://my.f-secure.com/en/community_login?p_p_id=login_WAR_login&p_p_lifecycle=1&p_p_state=normal&p...

The above URL even includes the address of the page you were on when you clicked log in.

If you try this shorter address: https://my.f-secure.com/en/community_login

and log in, then it appears as you weren't logged in, and the page redirects to a very long login address as descibed above, keeping the email address you entered.

BUT, if you now go to https://my.f-secure.com/en/community_login again, it will say "Already logged in"

So try the shorter login link, and when it appears as you weren't logged in, use a safari bookmark to go to for example http://community.f-secure.com/t5/Security-for-PC/bd-p/Protection  Now, hopefully, you're logged in.

Right, thanks Nik. I had already tried editing the URL but without success, but I'll try your suggestion.

To be honest, it's only for here that I need it, as Safari remembers my logins for other sites.

If both Safari and Key has problems with this site, it's probably due to the long login URL. If you try the short login URL, remember it may not look like you were logged in even though you were

Re: F-Secure Key on iPhone 4S

Nope, it's not having it, Nik. The login boxes remain blank, and I'm definitely not logged in. I think you're right about the URL, as it's different each time you log in. The only browser I've got this to work on is IE11, perhaps ironically, given the recent compatibility issues. It's rather a shame that this F-Secure product doesn't seem to work on it's own website.

Unfortunately, all of my other logins are remembered in Safari, so I can't think of any other way to test this on another site.

Hi,

Automated logins are not possible on iOS. It is somewhat closed environment when compared with the other ones.

Did you check out the instructions for autofilling on other platforms here:

http://community.f-secure.com/t5/Security-for-PC/Can-Key-fill-in-my-username-and/ta-p/34819

It should provide a fast track to get going.

OK, thanks Juha. Not a lot of use on my iPhone then. Smiley Sad

Just a note on login URLs:

https://my.f-secure.com/en/home is a clean login URL without a lot of parameters :)

Re: F-Secure Key on iPhone 4S

That might still be useful for my PC browser. Although, by the time you've pressed Ctrl+F2 and selected the data, you might as well have typed it in. It would be better if there was an auto-fill option. Smiley Wink
