Re: Offload scanning agent and Virtual Desktop’s and Server (SRS)

Hello,

Here is a quick overview:

https://www.f-secure.com/en/web/business_global/virtual-security

The reference guide is here:

https://download.f-secure.com/corpro/srs/current/fsvs-12.10-deployment-guide.pdf

It is essentially a method to move traditional "fingerprint database" type virus scanning work out of the endpoint computers, using the virtualized ethernet connection. The work gets off-loaded to one or more Linux-based virus scanner software appliances(s) that run within the same physical host and which provide responses with the verdicts.

It is not an "agentless" solution but probably falls into the "light agent" category if we speak about anti-virus protection using VMware terminology.
