How to disable F-Secure Client Security from Policy manager

Hi,

Sorry for posting this twice, replied to an old post at first....

I would like to disable Client Security on several hosts in my test domain, all at once from the Policy manager. How do I do this, is it enough to uncheck the choices below?

Enable Automatic updates

Real-time scanning enabled

Enable FW engine

E-mail and Web scanning are not in use.

Anything else I should be aware of, that also must be disabled?

When I tried to stop and disable all F-secure services on my PC, seems there still are 4 "drivers" resident in memory, see pic.  What are these and wouldn´t they continue to protect the PC even though I have disabled all Windows services?

Do I need to reboot every machine after disabling to make it work?

Thanks and regards,

JC

Re: How to disable F-Secure Client Security from Policy manager

Hello J-C,

You can not completely disable Client Security from Policy Manager. The client part, which is responsible for this communication (FSMA), will still continue working.

To disable it from PM as much as possible, you should also disable DeepGuard and participation in Real-time protection network.

As soon as you stop/disable all F-secure related Windows services your computer is not protected.

You don't need to reboot to get the protection back, just enable and start all  F-Secure services.

You can find the description of all F-Secure drivers in file details.

Best regards,

Vad

Re: How to disable F-Secure Client Security from Policy manager

Hi Vad and thanks for you answer! I´m sorry but expressed myself badly regarding the "reboot part" in last post, the question I was meaning to ask was:

After I have disabled windows services, the drivers in the above picture are _still_ present in memory (I guess the Deepguard driver will unload when deactivated from PMC?).

But do I have to reboot to "get rid of" the rest of the drivers, or are everything disabled despite the fact they reside in memory, won´t they "still work"?

Thanks and regards,

JC

Re: How to disable F-Secure Client Security from Policy manager

Hello J-C,

The drivers will stiil be present in the memory, even after reboot with disabled F-Secure services, in order to start working if services start. But they are not active.

Best regards,

Vad
