This article describes how you can move Policy Manager Server (PMS) to a new server.
To move PMS:
Backup the current Policy Manager database folder:
Stop the F-Secure Policy Manager Server service (CMD: net stop fsms).
Backup <F-Secure>\Management Server 5\data\h2db\ folder.
Restart the F-Secure Policy Manager Server service (CMD: net start fsms).
Install Policy Manager onto the new server.
Apply the backed up Policy Manager database folder to the new Policy Manager:
Stop F-Secure Policy Manager Server service (CMD: net stop fsms).
Replace <F-Secure>\Management Server 5\data\h2db\ folder with the previously backed up version.
Restart F-Secure Policy Manager Server service (CMD: net start fsms).
Configure on both new and old Policy Manager Server address policy setting to point to the new Policy Manager Server.
Open Policy Manager Console.
Go to Settings > Centralized management > Policy Manager Server settings.
In the Policy Manager textbox, type in the new Policy Manager Server address including the host module port number.
Distribute (Ctrl+D) the new policy.
Note: Restrict the address settings to disallow user changes. This makes sure that the policy variables override the local host value.
Once the managed hosts have fetched the new communication settings from the old Policy Manager, they will start communicating with the new Policy Manager Server.
Note: If the hosts are still communicating with the old Policy Manager Server, make sure that the new server's own firewall is allowing inbound connections to configure host module port (default port: 80).
