Configuring direct access to F-Secure updater servers

The default update server address uses a global dynamic content delivery network unsuitable for setting up an IP address based access control policy. In an environment where access to the Internet must be restricted by IP address lists, it is necessary to change the default update server address.

The alternate address provided in this article is guaranteed to always connect only to the F-Secure Network Ranges listed in article F-Secure protection services server IP addresses, making it possible to build the access control policies to match those networks.

This change is not recommended unless required by the target environments security policies and systems. Where possible, the recommended solution is to use a web proxy server to allow connections to the default server address fsbwserver.f-secure.com.

Note: You need administrator rights on the server!
