What is Gaming mode?
You can optimize the product's use of your computer's system resources by turning on the gaming mode.
Computer games often require a lot of system resources to run smoothly.
The gaming mode frees up more system resources to handle games that are running on your computer by reducing the product's impact on your computer's CPU and network consumption, while maintaining the essential functionality of the product. For example, automatic updates and other operations that can cause high CPU and network usage are suspended while gaming mode is turned on.
In addition, no notifications or action center popups are shown while gaming mode is turned on. Critical notifications are shown if they require immediate attention or interaction, but other notifications are only shown when you exit gaming mode. This also applies to any other full-screen applications, for example when you are viewing a presentation, slideshow or video in full-screen mode, even when gaming mode is turned off.
