Issue:
Opening ID-Protection I get an error "The master password must be the same on all connected devices. Enter your new master password:, I didn't change the password. How can I solve it?
Resolution:
We suggest you to uninstall the app from other devices and keep it installed on Windows device only. Then the way to correct the situation is to:
- Export the current passwords from the current installation
- Go to Settings
- Click on Export passwords
- Proceed with Export
- Save the exported file, without it you will lose all your ID Protection stored passwords.
- Quit ID Protection
- Right-click the ID Protection system-tray icon
- Select Quit
- Uninstall ID Protection: User Data from Add/Remove programs list of Windows (or possibly F-Secure KEY: User Data if the software was upgrade from F-Secure KEY)
- Open ID Protection, go through the activation flow and create new master password
- Unlock ID Protection and Import the previously exported passwords back to this newly activated ID Protection
- Go to Settings
- Click on Import passwords
- Continue with Select
- Install ID Protection on other devices and connect them with the one installed on the Windows.
