Policy on Detecting Government Spy Programs F-Secure Corporation's policy on detecting spying programs developed by various governments In late 2001, F-Secure Corporation received various queries on our standpoint regarding the possibility of spying programs developed by various governments. Much of this discussion was…

@Chrissy_T @Ville This doesnt happen on all games in Steam, it only affects a certain portion of them and it appears to possibly change. But this is a very old and recurring issue... Now I got it once again when I tried to play the following game: The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition…

@Thomashamka You are apparently using an old version of F-Secure with its own firewall. I am using the latest 2014 version which doesnt have it and I cannot do what you are talking about. I added Steam.exe to the only place I can which is real-time scanning as an exception which didnt fix the issue.

Why is there no changelog or anything available anywhere? Only thing I can find about release 4 is the new features explained in _german_ on these forums on the german section.

AFAIK all of the processes that would benefit of this are already 64-bit. Running certain interface processes etc in 64-bit would not be beneficial, actually unbeneficial as they would just unnecessarily use up more resources than needed when they run fine in 32 bit.

I hope F-Secure still can solve this problem. I'd prefer to have the faster boot enabled!

Yes, I have tried and it didnt help
-
Why? It wont help. The people at F-Secure and Valve need to fix this ASAP.

I dont think you understand what he's talking about...

I've seen similar reports. Yes, the Browsing Protection addon is still causing massive performance problems. Hope they will sort this out with 2013 as they move into the new approach with no browser addons. Until then, you can disable browsing protection if youd rather have performance over security
-
That page shows only a "site owner feedback". Maybe you want to re-phrase that?
-
AFAIK F-Secure currently uses BitDefender's engine in addition to F-Secure's own engines. Before they used Kaspersky instead of bitdefender. And yes there are several engines in place.

If theres a false positive or a virus not detected or something, report it: https://analysis.f-secure.com/portal/login.html Thats a no-brainer, just complaining isnt very helpful.
-
The thing is, nothing works with this problem, not disabling deep guard, not removing online safety, not turning computer security off... Tried all those and none worked...
-
Do you plan on fixing this sometime in the future? Its annoying that every single time IE is launched, it nags about F-Secure slowing it down, and of course that it slows down browsing isnt nice either.
-
Its one of the best out there, so yes it is a good AV
-
Another update to Online Security that forces to restart computer... This is really annoying as I dont want to restart my computer. FSIS2011 never forced me to restart, why this annoying behaviour with 2012?
-
The problem is that every time IE is launched, it nags that F-Secure is slowing it down and recommends disabling browsing protection.

Yes, I just think its too late, usually all addons have support for Firefox Aurora as with the new release cycle, beta and aurora are considered my Mozilla itself fully usable and they actually recommend people to use these builds. Its the new rapid release thing. Only Nightly is officially considered a version not for…
-
Yes it does, thats whats my setup :) Edited: Spoiler removed.

According to VirusTotal: BitDefender domain information The URL domain/host was seen to host badware at some point in time https://www.virustotal.com/url/1155cbc4f92d104708aa04861aa794ee5de334edbdbb65e13b230b9e3d7d6394/analysis/1336305387/ Maybe its this since f-secure uses btidefender technology
-
This part looks confusing since there is no borders, its like this part of the webpage would be missing a stylesheet
-
Nevermind, it corrected itself automatically.
-
IMHO a good pace would be supporting Aurora (which is 12.0a2 atm), all my other addons support Aurora but my AV does not (it is also the only addon I pay money for)

If you want you can submit files to F-Secure for more advanced analysis here: https://analysis.f-secure.com

**bleep**, it doesnt work properly, Firefox remembers the password but doesnt automatically fill it the next time you need to login. Please fix this!!
