Silent installation of Client Security

I want to make the installation of F-Secure Client Security 9.01 silent(just exec an .exe or .msi)

Is there a way to do this for standalone installations? Creating an MSI or similar.

    If you need a completely silent installation, use ilaunchr.exe together with a Policy Manager Console exported jar file.
    To make the installation standalone, include a base policy file into the exported JAR package. Make sure, the following setting is enabled indicating a standalone installation:

    F-Secure Management Agent > Settings > Communications > Host Configuration mode
    -> Standalone

    To start the installation, use Ilaunchr.exe which is available on the computer running with Policy Manager Console.

    ilaunchr /Q /C /F /U /J<name of exported jar file>

    /Q is the key here, hiding the normal installation dialog.

    The *.exe installer cannot be silenced and as the MSI package currently act as a wrapper for a JAR-file, even if you try something similar to msiexec /qn /i <msi-package> this will still show our normal "installing ..." dialog because the underlying jar-installer command line is hard coded.

    Hope this helps!

    Moved the article to the End-point Security board.

  • Thanks for the reply Peter but is there no way of doing this since I don't have the Policy Manager Console.

    I read about prodsett.ini but someone said it's not used anymore.

    Not aware of alternative solutions here. Policy Manager is available for download here and requires no key code to install.
    Installation takes about 5-10 minutes and works even on top of a workstation OS like XP or Win 7.
