Troubleshooting: Wrong time on clock / incorrect timezone

After the setup is finished SENSE will show the current time on the display. It keeps time by regularly synchronizing the clock with a time server.

When SENSE powers on the clock may be initially out of sync. This is because the device does not have a battery backup for keeping the time when it is powered off. SENSE will automatically update and adjust the time as soon as it connects to the internet.

In case your clock apperars to be off permanently by a specific amount even if it is connected, it is possible that the time zone configuration is incorrect. SENSE gets the time zone configuration of the device used during setup. It is not yet possible to adjust it from the application after setup, but this feature is on our list of short-term improvements and will be available as an update.

To fix this issue :
  • ensure the device you use for setup is set to the correct time zone and shows a correct time
  • reset both the SENSE device and the SENSE application and run the setup again
    • you can use the same SSID and password when setting up SENSE again to have all your devices automatically re-connect to the network
