Neighborcast problem

Hello all,

I have a problem with Neighborcast functionality.

I try to setup a Server (windows 7 64 bits) and one Client (windows 8.1) for Neighborcast .

for server i set Neighborcast server = enabled

for client i set Neighborcast  client=enabled

and port default = 12110

I tried everything but the client make updates from Policy Manager Server or F-Secure servers, not on Neighborcast server.

server and client are in a workgroup. Connection exists between them, respond to ping and telnet.

thank you

I don't think it works that way, since Neighbourcast is a P2P system. I think both server and client port should be allowed on both computers.

this is what i found on abouth enable neighborcast:

    To enable neighborcast:

    -1.Select the target domain.
-2.Select the Settings tab and the Automatic updates page.
1.To set clients in the selected domain to download updates from other clients, select Enable Neighborcast client.
2.To set clients in the selected domain to serve updates to other clients, select Enable Neighborcast server.
3.To change the port used for neighborcast, enter the new port number in Neighborcast port.

    Hello Florin,

Note that the server needs to have the updates available when the client is requesting them, otherwise the client will fallback on the Policy Manager to download the updates.

How did you confirm that downloads were still done on the Policy Manager?

How do I set the server to download updates that will be distributed to the client?
There is a procedure for this?

    Thank you.
