F-Secure for Workstations 9 for Windows 8.1?
Not sure if I'm posting in the right forum, but is F-Secure for Workstations 9 compatible for Windows 8.1? We have it installed on our current installation of Windows 8 (even though the release notes don't say anything about Windows 8), but the compatibility checker says that it is not compatible for Windows 8.1? Is there a way around this problem?
We realize that it's an older version, but our university offered a site license...

this thread should be in the business section but a Mod will switch it to that part of the forum.
At the present time, only F-Secure AV for Workstation 11.00 is compatible with Windows 8.1.
Further, support for FSAV for Workstations 9 stops after 15th February next year; http://community.f-secure.com/t5/End-point/Important-End-of-life-for-9/td-p/29672 so it is not a long-term solution anyway.
I work at a University in the UK, and staff and students have access to a particular portal where you can download Security software using a Username and Password for access. Alternatively contact the IT Department who will give you the required information. I am sure that they will have a newer version of FS for WS available for you.

Do you mind me asking which University you are at, as I am surprised that they do not offer at least one commercial AV for student use?
Which free product are they going to offer?
