I have a question about the new functionality of the Premium version.
Do the F-Secure proxies support caching software updates also?
Or will they be directly send from PM to the clients?
Costas, your understanding is correct. Policy manager provides to the clients only a database with the list of available updates. Updates themselves are downloaded by end-points.
note that if web proxies are configured, the update packages can be cached on the web proxies.
we will listen for feedback for the future development of this functionality, while we intent to keep the solution easy to set up and use.
Here: c:\Users\All Users\F-Secure\Logs\FSOFTUPD\
My understanding is that at the current version there is no caching at all.
End-point will download the updates missing.
Thanks for explaining.
Will there be a central solution in the future?
Similair to WSUS with downstream servers etc..?
Where can i find some log files regarding Software Updater ?
any Update on when the Policy Manager be able to hold and share the packets local ?
at the moment this feature is not planned to be implemented in the near future.
Does the Neighbourcast functionality apply to F-Secure Software Update downloads sharing?
Is the F-Secure Software Updater endpoint module susceptible to the same kind of fake-proxy-cert trickery, which the Mossad used for infecting computers in the iranian nuclear lab?
Thanks in advance, Sincerely: Tamas Feher from Hungary.

If you are asking about the F-Secure Software Updater updates downloaded by AUA, then the answer is yes.
If about updates for 3-rd party soft, then no.
