There are no script or registry value provided to disable the F-Secure Firewall. However, you can disable this settings from the PSB Management Portal or Policy Manager Console.
If you do not need firewall, do not use F-Secure Client Security!
The "F-Secure Anti-Virus for Workstations 11.00" is the same, but it does not include the workstation-side packet-filtering firewall, so it cannot give you network problems. It is also suitable for older generation computers which have a little less HW power than desirable and suffer under FSCS.
1) to allow PUSH installation as well as other remote access to a client you need to chose Office LAN profile. But this will open the ports for all machines in the LAN. The better choise is to add arule to allow access to these ports from only the helpdesk machines, while these grant no access at all.
2) If you want to update machines that have F-Secure already installed you should NOT use push but the policy based method instead. Push is only for first time installation.
3) if you decide to install ANTI-VIRUS only you miss a lot of protection against current malware. Also dropping the firewall from installtion is a bad idea as you also loose Application control. Better: create a passthrough profile and use that.

net stop fsma and net start fsma could work.

We tried to push outthe new version of F-secure client but the older version ( standalone) prevented us to push out due tofirewal ofF-secure work.
Could not find a workaround. ANy suggestions.
Do you have any script to uninstall the old F-secure work?
But these clients are unmanaged. Can we do that with unmanaged clients?
How about automation script to uninstall your old version software completedly then push out the new version?
Hello,
There is an F-Secure uninstall tool:
Uitool
Note: do NOT run it on F-Secure Policy Manager Server or Console computers!
Where to trace whether the uninstaller ran on the mgmt console server?
We rebooted the mgmt server and F-secure software is gone, even cannot find it in add/remove program.
2hdb is 1 kb only, generated after teh reboot.
Hello Ginger,
What version of F-Secure Uninstallation Tool do you have/suspect?
Traces are depended on version.
Best regards,
Vad
