Software updater try to install not unneded security updates for several days

Hello,

We have here a Windows AD with a Server 2016 and Windows 8.1 clients with MS Ofiice 2013.

For security we have a Windows 2012 server with policy manager 15.11.94088 and F-Secure 15.11 premium clients.

A WSUS for Microsoft updates is also there.

Since severeal days F-Secure try to install MS office updates:

These updates are not necessary according my WSUS server. And the installation fails every day with the message

"Status '"installation_failed"'. Additional info: WA_VMOD_ERROR_CANNOT_TERMINATE_PRODUCT"

for every update.

How can I fix this?

    Hi Stefan,

    The error suggests that the software was in use and unable to close when the software update installation kicked in.

    To workaround the issue, you need to ensure that the software is not running during the software update installation.

    If you prefer, you may change the following setting to allow the feature to close the application always before software update installation kicks in via Profile Editor:

    * Software Updater > Close running applications to install updates

    Note that all unsaved work will be lost if the software was closed.

    Thanks for your reply.

    You see, these are all updates for Microsoft Office?

    I did a little bit research:

    The update FSPM-3247-10502-3039779 (KB3039779) was forbidden from the WSUS, therefore probably it was not installed.

    But for the updates FSPM-3245-50645-2553154 (KB2553154) and FSPM-3247-10502-2726958 (KB2726958) I get thet message, that they are already installed at the system (if I try to install it manually), see attached screenshot. I can confirm that the KB numbers are not visible in the local view of installed updates. The next 8 I can research tomorow, hopefully.

    That the point I mean. There are some false positives.
