Software Updater unable to install Java update

Products affected: Computer Protection, Client Security Premium, Server Security Premium, Email and Server Security Premium, PSB Server Security, PSB Email and Server Security.
Problem: Oracle has changed the way Java is licensed. A side effect of this is that Java updates can be downloaded only from the vendor's server with authentication. This stops Software Updater from downloading the Java update.
We have published a change to Computer Protection to stop showing Java update as a missing update in Software Updater. After this, you will need to install Java update manually (not via Software Updater).
In addition, we are not going to change the Software Updater behavior for the rest of the products.
To prevent Software Updater from installing the problematic Java update automatically, you can exclude the Java Update from the automatic installation via:
- Policy Manager Console (Business Suites):
F-Secure Software Updater > Settings > Automatic Installation > Exclude software from automatic installation - Profile Editor (PSB):
Software Updater > Exclude software from automatic installation
After the change, you will need to install the Java update manually.
Visible effects: Software Updater is unable to download the Java update.
Update on May 24: "Unfortunately, we have found a bug in Computer Protection which ignores the exclusions when SWUP autoscans after installing the updates. Therefore, the JAVA update reappears from time to time and then disappears after the next rescan. (Internal reference for this issue: CSBP-18817, and a fix is expected in Computer Protection 19.4.)
Note: This fix will be merely to stop showing that the Java update is missing. This will not be a permanent fix to address the SWUP limitation in downloading and installing the Java update."
ETA: To be confirmed
Fix: This limitation will be fixed in PM 14.30
