Freedome for Business not activating on Android 8.0 and later

Products affected: PSB Freedome for Business, Android 8.0 and later.
Problem: The method that the F-Secure Device Agent uses to broadcast the activation token to the Freedome application is no longer supported by Android 8.0 and upwards. An updated version of the Management Agent will be developed to correct this.
Visible effects: Freedome for Business installs, but will not activate its subscription. The subcriptions page in the application shows "initializing". In the PSB portal, the device is listed as "Managed" with an amber indicator.
Resolved: A fix was released on December 27, 2018. Please see the post below for more details.

An update for the F-Secure Device Agent was released on December 27, 2018, and it should now be possible to successfully activate PSB Freedome for Business with the help of the following instructions:
- Select the affected devices from the mobile devices list in the PSB portal and select the Update Device Agent operation.
- To verify that the F-Secure Device Agent is updated, open the application on an affected device and check if the version is set to 4.9.3 (r25813).
- From the PSB portal, select the affected devices from the mobile devices list and select the Send status update.
Freedome for Business should now show as activated when opened on an affected device.
If an installation has been stuck at 'Initializing' for more than a week, the activation token has expired. In this case, the applications (F-Secure Device Agent and Freedome for Business) need to be reinstalled for the activation token to refresh.6 1Like
