Unable to edit or make changes to profile settings in the Elements Endpoint Protection portal - F-Secure Community
<main> <article class="userContent"> <h3 data-version="6" data-article="000008997" data-id="issue">Issue:</h3> <p>Elements Endpoint Protection (EPP for Computers and EPP for Servers) settings profiles can not be modified in the Elements Endpoint Protection Portal<br></p><ul><li>Most settings simply state if they are on or off, there are no switches to change the state</li><li>You can make changes to firewall rules, but there is no option to save and publish to the profile. You can press <b>Done</b> but that only leads to the saving process hanging until you cancel the operation. There is also the option to <b>Save and Publish to multiple profiles</b>, but from the next selection screen the profile where the changes were made to is missing.</li></ul><h3 data-id="resolution">Resolution:</h3> <p>This issue can be caused by the following:<br></p><ul><li>Modifications are being made to the default F-Secure profiles. These are set to read-only and can not be modified by anyone</li><li>Companies can not modify profiles that are owned by a Solution Providers (SOP) or Service Provider (SEP). You can verify that you are the owner of the profile by viewing the <b>Owner </b>column in the <b>Profiles </b>page in the Elements Endpoint Protection portal</li><li>The logged in admin account is restricted to read-only</li></ul> If you are an administrator user on the company level, to create a profile, which you yourself can edit, you can clone an existing profile: <ol><li>Log in to the Elements Endpoint Protection Portal</li><li>Go to the <b>Profiles</b> page</li><li>Click the <b>Three dots</b> on the right side of a profile </li><li>Select <b>Clone profile</b></li><li>Give the profile a name </li><li>Edit the settings</li><li>Click <b>Save and publish </b></li></ol> <br><br><div>To assign that profile to a specific device: <ol><li>Go to the <b>Devices</b> page</li><li>Select the device(s)</li><li>Click <b>Assign</b> > <b>Assign profile</b></li><li>Select the profile and click <b>Assign</b></li></ol> A Solution provider (SOP) or Service Provider (SEP) administrator user can use the <strong>Copy profile to another account </strong>feature, to copy a profile between the SOP and SEP levels or between two Elements company accounts: <ol><li>Go to the <strong>Profiles </strong>page</li><li>Click on the <b>three dots </b>on the right side of the profile </li><li>Select <strong>Copy profile to another account </strong></li><li>Select the account the profile should be copied to and click <strong>Confirm</strong></li><li>Name the profile and click <strong>Save and publish </strong></li></ol> Now the profile will be owned by the account it was copied over to and the administrators of that account can edit the profile.<br>Once the profile has been saved and published, it will be visible on your Profiles page and the Owner column will show your company as the owner of that profile. </div> <p>Article no: 000008997</p> </article> </main>
