Unable to uninstall PSB Computer Protection from Windows / Mac, getting error: "Uninstallation is not allowed" - F-Secure Community
<main> <article class="userContent"> <h3 data-version="9" data-article="000016792" data-id="issue">Issue:</h3> <p>I am trying to uninstall F-Secure PSB Computer protection from my Windows / Mac PC, but I get error notification: <br>"<i>Uninstallation is not allowed, Settings do not allow local uninstallation. Contact your administrator</i>."</p> <h3 data-id="resolution">Resolution:</h3> <p>This is due to the PSB Computer Protection profile setting that disallows a user from uninstalling the product locally. <br><br>Please ask your PSB account administrator to change the following setting:<br></p><ol><li>Log in to the PSB Portal</li><li>Go to the <b>Profiles </b>page</li><li>Select the profile that is assigned to the computer </li><li>Go to the <b>General </b>Settings page</li><li>Go to <b>Allow the user to uninstall the product </b></li><li>Enable the setting (slide down to green)</li><li>Click <b>Save and publish</b></li></ol><b>If the above fails on a Mac and the uninstallation is still not possible, try the following.</b><br>Remove the following file and try the uninstallation again: <ul><li>/usr/local/f-secure/fsmac/sysconfig/.no_uninstall</li></ul> This will require root permissions, should only be used as a recovery measure and will no longer be available in future releases of PSB Computer Protection. <p>Article no: 000016792</p> </article> </main>
