F-Secure Email and Server Security manual scan causes system to hang
After initialing a manual scan, the server/system experiences noticeable degradation in performance causing the server/system to hang.
Scanning large archives may cause the CPU usage to increase by 50% - 100%.
To overcome this issue, set an archive nesting limit for manual scanning:
- Start Windows Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
- Set the following registry on the server:
If you have a 32-bit system:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Data Fellows\F-Secure\GKH2] "MaxArchiveNesting"=dword:00000001 (1)
If you have a 64-bit system:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Data Fellows\F-Secure\GKH2]"MaxArchiveNesting"=dword:00000001 (1)
- Restart the FSGKHS service for the change to take effect.
