F-Secure SAFE for Windows Phone End of Life (EOL)
Our Windows Phone (7, 8, 8.1) and Windows 10 Mobile support for F-Secure SAFE is coming to an end on 31.12.2017. This is due to a small and declining number of SAFE customers using these operating systems. The decision to end support for F-Secure SAFE for Windows Phone follows on from Microsoft's own decision to end support for Windows Phone 8.1 earlier this year on 11.7.2017. By ending our offering for Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile, we have decided to focus our development and maintenance efforts on the Android and iOS operating systems.
What does end of support mean?
End of support means that if our home security product is installed on either a Windows Phone or Windows 10 Mobile device, we cannot guarantee the protection on this device, as your device will no longer receive essential product and security updates and may be more open to security vulnerabilities as a result.
What happens to my software after end of support?
When F-Secure SAFE for Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile reaches end of life, we can no longer provide any guarantee that your existing installation or any reinstallation of our product on a Windows Phone or Windows 10 Mobile device will continue to work.
If you have F-Secure SAFE installed on a Windows Phone or Windows 10 Mobile device with a valid F-Secure SAFE subscription, you can release that license and transfer it to a mobile platform that is supported by F-Secure SAFE (Android and iOS).
