<main> <article class="userContent"> <p> </p> Perform a Complete memory dump <p>When Windows crashes (blue screen of death), it creates memory dump files. These files contain information about the computer's memory at the time of crash, and can be used to help diagnose and identify the potential root cause of the crash. By default, complete memory dump is disabled. To enable complete memory dump, follow the steps below: </p> <ol><li> Go to <strong>Start</strong> > <strong>Control Panel</strong> and select <strong>System</strong>. </li> <li> On the left pane of the System window, click <strong>Advanced system settings</strong>. </li> <li> Go to the <strong>Advanced</strong> tab, and click on <strong>Settings</strong> under the Startup and Recovery section. </li> <li> Under the <strong>Write debugging information</strong> section, select <strong>Complete memory dump</strong> from the drop-down menu. </li> <li> In the <strong>Dump file</strong> field, type in the location where you want to save the dump file. Otherwise, the default location is <code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false">%SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP</code>. </li> <li> Click <strong>OK</strong>. </li> <li> Close all unnecessary programs and reproduce the problem again.
