Issue:
If F-Secure end-points (e.g. Client Security) are installed on hosts that do not have a network connection, malware definitions can be updated using the tool provided with Policy Manager. For additional information, see https://community.f-secure.com/business-suite-en/kb/articles/5480-updating-malware-definitions-on-isolated-client-security-hosts
This tool uses channels.json for downloading different updates from the F-Secure backend.
Is there any possibility to be notified when this channels.json file is updated?
Resolution:
F-Secure does not have a process in place to notify users of changes inside this particular file. However, any changes in the file would be released in sync with a new Policy Manager releases (usually twice a year). As such, one possible workaround would be to revise the upgrade documentation for PM to include a new step, which would be to check and compare the channels.json file after upgrade with the one existing.
After upgrade, the new file is available inside the following zip-file on the PMS server:
?:\program files (x86)\management server 5\lib\fspm-definitions-update-tool.zip/conf/channels.json
Alternatively, always recreate the update package per instructions below, this will take care of this automatically:
