How to block "rare and unknown applications in downloads folder" while still allowing a similar application (Goto Webinar) using an application control exception rule. - F-Secure Community
<main> <article class="userContent"> <h3 data-version="3" data-article="000023291" data-id="issue">Issue:</h3> <p></p><p>Using the Application Control exclusion rule "Block rare and unknown applications in Downloads folder" we try to block users from launching different applications and the rule works well. However, we also need an exception for the GoToWebinar application but this is not working very well as users might e.g. change the filename ending up having multiple copies of the file. </p> <h3 data-id="resolution">Resolution:</h3> <p>Instead of using the filename which can be changed by the user, use a identifier embedded into the file to create the exception.
