<main> <article class="userContent"> <h3 data-version="8" data-article="000023103" data-id="issue">Issue:</h3> <p></p><ol><li>Does manual scan in Client Security 14.xx scan boot sectors / Master Boot Record/partition tables of an attached USB removable drive by right-clicking through Windows explorer?</li><li>If they are not being scanned manually by right-click through Windows explorer, do they get scanned after attaching the USB removable USB drive to a system automatically?</li></ol><h3 data-id="resolution">Resolution:</h3> <p>Manual scan by right click through Windows explorer does not scan boot sectors / Master Boot Record (MBR) / partition tables of an attached removable USB drive.<br><br>When a USB removable disk is plugged, our software hooks its mount request and open it as a raw disk. During manual scan by right click through Windows explorer, F-Secure software does not scan them by default.<br><br>User can run a full system scan. It has a heuristics approach scan Boot Sector / Master Boot Record. Manual scan through Windows explorer will only hook malware.</p> <p>Article no: 000023103</p> </article> </main>
