Consequently, no file access is scanned for malware. </p> <h3 data-id="diagnosis">Diagnosis</h3> <p>After completing the installation, you notice that the on-access scanner daemon is not running. This means that no file access is scanned for malware. </p> <div>You may manually need to compile the kernel drivers that F-Secure Linux Security needs. You may need to do this for several reasons, such as: <ul><li>You did not have the compilers or other required tools installed during the installation. </li> <li>You did not have the kernel headers and/or sources installed during the installation. </li> <li>You have upgraded the kernel and need to compile the drivers for the new kernel. </li> </ul></div> <h3 data-id="solution">Solution</h3> <p>You can easily compile and install the drivers by running the following command as the root user: </p><pre class="code codeBlock" spellcheck="false" tabindex="0">/opt/f-secure/fsav/bin/fsav-compile-drivers</pre> <p>The preinstallation checklist for F-Secure Linux Security is available as a separate article.
