<main> <article class="userContent"> <p> </p>F-Secure Email and Server Security manual scan causes system to hang <h3>Symptoms </h3> <p>After initialing a manual scan, the server/system experiences noticeable degradation in performance causing the server/system to hang. </p> <h3>Diagnosis </h3> <p>Scanning large archives may cause the CPU usage to increase by 50% - 100%. </p> <h3>Solution </h3> <p>To overcome this issue, set an archive nesting limit for manual scanning: </p> <ol><li> Start <strong>Windows Registry Editor</strong> (regedit.exe). </li> <li> Set the following registry on the server: <ul><li> <p>If you have a 32-bit system: <code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false">[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Data Fellows\F-Secure\GKH2] "MaxArchiveNesting"=dword:00000001 (1)</code> </p> </li> <li> <p>If you have a 64-bit system: <code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false">[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Data Fellows\F-Secure\GKH2]"MaxArchiveNesting"=dword:00000001 (1)</code> </p> </li> </ul></li> <li> Restart the <strong>FSGKHS</strong> service for the change to take effect. </li> </ol> </article> </main>
